Natures Value.

I have been thinking today, thinking about this planet, the world and how we mistreat it. Nature has given us everything, our lives, wealth, everything we have has come from the landscapes around us. Yet the lack of appreciation is truly apparent. It seems most Humans only value something that has a price on it, a financial worth. They miss the ability to appreciate the fascinating complexity and beauty because it does not have a price tag. The reason it has no value is because it is worth more than any person could ever conceive. It has a worth greater in value than EVERY single corporation on the planet.

Yet still, we will cut it down, burn it, and pollute it.

Humans are supposed to be the most intellectually advanced animals in the world, but isn’t it funny that we are the only ones who are driving ourselves to extinction. Think about what we are doing, because something needs to change and soon.

Into the Swing.

Finally things are moving forward.

I feel like I have direction and I am moving forward, Many of my projects that I have been working hard on are now coming to fruition and I am finding work really fun again!

I love what I do and over the last week it really has hit me again how lucky I am, This year is going to be the best yet, I can feel it. All i need to do now is start getting fit again and getting out running, cycling and maybe even taking a break or two!

Neglect.

Too long has it been since my last update, I have been neglecting my blog nearly as much as I have been neglecting myself.

Too little exercise, Too much junk food, a lack of time to relax and simply allowing stress to build up in my life.

Its time for a change. 20 years old. I’m not a teen anymore, time to look at my life and get to work getting to where I want to be. I’m going to be working hard on every aspect of my life over the next year, my career, fitness, mental capacity, intelligence, and breadth of interests. Im going to focus my attentions on some projects I have had in the planning for a few years and get to work producing some stunning photography, writing and more.

Its time to get things in place for the rest of my life. Its time for a change.

Big Year.

In 12 days I will reach my second decade.

Looking back, I have done a lot, been to many places and seen many things, but the next year will be the best yet. Big changes, new destination, exciting projects, personal development, I can’t wait to see how much I can achieve before my 21st. Through hard work and persistence I have have developed some good foundations, but this year its time to knuckle down even harder and really start to make my mark.

This year, life begins at 20. I can’t wait!

Back on track

The last few weeks have been mad, loads to do, travelling half way round the world and then coming home to a pile of emails and enquiries to sort out!

But now I’m getting back on track, I’m going to get back to Blogging once a day, back to heading out running, Back to eating properly and healthily, Back to my best.

Over the next year I hope this blog will give some of you an insight into my life, my ups and downs, thoughts and feelings as I struggle to develop as a young journalist, photographer and naturalist. Its going to be hard. lots of long nights, early mornings, deadlines and down days, but I will make it in the end. Hopefully along the way I might give some of you some lighthearted entertainment as well!

I look forward to making this work!

Moving

Life is about moving. Moving up. Moving forwards. If we stop moving we stop learning, if we stop learning we become stagnant, and when that happens we become bored and unhappy. In physical terms movement is also so important, it keeps us fit and healthy, ready for the next challenge. And challenge is what life is all about!

I’m Back!

After two weeks in Peru I’m back in the UK and what an amazing experience it was!

It was fascinating not only to see the huge amounts of wildlife but also how the disparity of wealth is causing the destruction and development of pristine rainforest. The trip has produced so many questions in my life about development, society and wealth and I keep asking myself if human development is making any real progress at all!

BIG Weekend…Even Bigger month!

The 16-18 of August. For any birdwatcher, wildlife lover, naturalist they will know that that is the date of the British Birdfair! A huge event bringing together over 15,000 people all in the cause for nature. Its a great time to network, meet friends and build relationships and thats exactly what I shall be doing over the next four days! Not only am I working I am also giving my first ever major lecture that will be seen by over 100 people, a huge opportunity for someone at my age!

If the weekend wasn’t enough excitement fast forward to next week and I shall be flying off to Peru for two weeks awesome wildlife watching in the heart of the amazon rainforest. A life long dream, now a close reality!

I shall keep my blog going as much as possible over the next few months and I might even post a few pictures when I return from the other side of the world!

Books.

I love books, and I’m not afraid to say it.

I have always thought of them as the intellects TV. So much choice…history, stories, adventure, factual; all are of interest to me. The provide inspiration, insight and help us to develop our understanding and personal character. I try and read a least one book a week, one book on a different topic, a chance to open my mind to the wonders of the world.
