Re think, Re design, Re brand.

So in my head its going to be the end of the year soon. We are under three month from the end of 2013 and now its the time to start thinking about how I’m going make next year the best year yet.

Everything starts with a Re think. Thinking about what I have done well this year, what could be improved and how I’m going to do that.

Next its time to design my progression. Everything that will be seen by the world needs planning, careful consideration and thought. The design is not just for the aesthetic parts of what I do (Photography, Website, Blog) but also to the type of clients I want to work with, countries to visit. Planning and design is what holds up the best companies and brand.

When these are complete the next step is to make my new design my brand. Incorporate my personality into the design, and hopefully my brand will see me reach higher and move forwards.

And life is all about moving forwards.

Into the Swing.

Finally things are moving forward.

I feel like I have direction and I am moving forward, Many of my projects that I have been working hard on are now coming to fruition and I am finding work really fun again!

I love what I do and over the last week it really has hit me again how lucky I am, This year is going to be the best yet, I can feel it. All i need to do now is start getting fit again and getting out running, cycling and maybe even taking a break or two!

Moving

Life is about moving. Moving up. Moving forwards. If we stop moving we stop learning, if we stop learning we become stagnant, and when that happens we become bored and unhappy. In physical terms movement is also so important, it keeps us fit and healthy, ready for the next challenge. And challenge is what life is all about!

Finding vision.

As a creative person I am always looking for inspiration in order to improve and address my vision as a photographer. My inspiration although often from nature, comes from a variety of locations within my life. Over the past few weeks my vision has been buried under a heap of work, hidden from the forefront of my mind, leaving me feeling stressed and unfulfilled. I have not given over time to the passions in my life that inspire my creativity; running, reading, learning, walking and looking at gorgeous images.

This week that will change. Its time to get back to what I do best; Being creative.

Perseverance.

In life one of the most important words we can talk about is perseverance.

No matter who you are, what you do, perseverance is key. Sometimes we all feel like giving up, beneath that mountain of editing, emails, phone calls, work..we can all feel like throwing in the towel but why, whats the point? If we do not persevere with what we started why are we bothering at all?

The best things in life are those that we have worked hard for, those achievements that took weeks of hard work, many hours of patience and persistence. My best images are produced after many hours of work, not just with the camera in my hand but with the planning and preparation before the camera ever came into play!

Perseverance will make the difference between being good and being great at what you do. Natural skill can only get you so far, the rest is down to hard work and a determination to succeed.

Perseverance is the only sure way to make you prevail.

Stress

Stress has been pretty high over the last week. So much to do, not enough time and constantly new problems have been coming to the forefront of the process! I like a little stress, it makes me work to the best of my ability but equally it hampers my ability to be creative. Today I’m relaxing. Time off , is time well spent!

Life

Life is a complex system. Sometimes we feel like we are winning, then we are quickly put back in our place. It’s a hard life in order to live life well so here are a few tips. Tell those whom you love that you love them. Find a job you enjoy. Spend time with those who make you happy.

Life is what you make it, so make it worthwhile!

Creativity is intelligence having fun.

“Creativity is intelligence having fun.” ― Albert Einstein

As I moved through school I was put into the “intelligent” category, those young people who are predicted to get A/B’s at A level and follow on from school by studying at University, before taking up a “respectable” job.

Sadly I am not one of those people… I am intelligent, don’t get me wrong (AAB at A level)… but I am a creative; not a clone. The world that fascinates me is not the one in books or the one on the TV, it is the one I see with my own eyes.

I became fascinated with visual media in my early teens, my photography became a way for me to explore and share what I was witnessing. I will always have a passion for the complex science behind organisms and natural processes but as I have develop as a creative individual, I have started to understand the value that comes from knitting together science and media in order to create a powerful visual message. I turned down Uni in order to explore my creativity and build a life based upon something I feel passionate about.

Albert Einstein was a creative, a visionary and a true inspiration. Creativity is intelligence having fun… and being creative is what I do best.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I love being busy. The feeling of having a purpose, things to do, people to see, photographs to take and work to finish. I love the little bit of stress that drives you forward, just enough to keep you on your toes, work your hardest and pull off your best work when you need to. Over the next week I have so much to do, but I can’t wait! I love my job and there is nothing like the feeling of accomplishing a hard weeks work and the satisfaction of knowing the payslip was truly earned!
